Educational Inducation: " The Classroom Environment" by Talon - October 2014 Scholarship Essay

Educational facilities serve as a haven for students of all ages. Much like an incubator, a classroom fosters educational and emotional growth. Within these regulated environments many minute details impact the learning experience. An ideal classroom environment is organized, stimulating and comfortable.

Utilizing organization in the classroom environment sets a positive example for students. In effort to create the ideal organized classroom environment, every students should have clear access to the visual aid used in class. Students unable to follow visual aid usually determine the redirection of their attention, and fall behind in class. Seating arrangements which are also important to classroom organization, should provide little classroom distraction. The Educator should be the focal point of the class, not the student sharpening his pencil. An organized environment would contribute to my educational success by eliminating classroom distractions, granting full understanding of class lectures. As a result of truly deepening my understanding of classroom content, I will become well versed in broad topics and improve academically. Also students that are fluent in class subjects create a more stimulating environment.

A classroom is a live environment and should be stimulating. A stimulating environment allows students to feel a sense of belonging. This type of environment also encourages student interaction through open class discussion. A stimulating environment would also remove boundaries in the classroom, eliminating judgment. An environment such as this would aid in my educational success by exposing me to different student opinions driven by cultural bias, and induce a more critical thinking realm. Students should feel comfortable in the classroom environment, not only communicating with their peers; but physically as well.

The last aspect of an ideal classroom environment is comfort. Classrooms do not have to feel like a second home, however it should accommodate a comfortable work environment. A comfortable environment should have comfy seating, and good airflow. A classroom environment with comfortable seats indirectly encourages students to focus more in class, and good air flow prevents students from getting too comfy and falling asleep. In a classroom setting discomfort is a distraction, when those distractions are extinguished ideas flourish. An environment with good seating and airflow would assist in my educational success by keeping me alert and focused.

My ideal classroom environment is organized, stimulating and comfortable. An environment composed of these aspects are bound to promote a healthy leaning environment for any student. However these three aspects together will benefit my academic success by creating a sense of order, and attainability towards getting my degree.
