What is a world without the pleasure and beauty of everyday life? Would life be as it is today if it weren't for vanity? The picture of Dorian Gray is a novel that I read and loved because it answers those questions and many more through the language used by the writer and the way life gets confused with art.

This book really changed my perspective of things today and it made aware of males as well. The writer brings about his message in an interesting way and this intrigued me into actually finishing the entire novel!

In Chapter 1 Lord Henry tells Dorian that all influence is bad influence because you are shifting your own way of thinking and behavior to another,thus making them forget who they really are. This stood out to me and made me realize that friends aren't always friends,but more foe.

I had struggled alot with finding friends and doing whatever just to please them to fit in. Dorian did the same. The only difference between me and him is that I chose to listen to my instincts and come clean.

This novel taught me about choices, consequences and responsibility.

I feel that by reading this novel many people like me would realize that the morals had back then doesn't different much from today's,and that is a treat.
