Senior Quote by Taaya - November 2018 Scholarship Essay
"And this is where you find out who you are." This is a saying many families, friends, counselors, mentors, employers, Church officials and teachers have been telling kids since they began high school, and even middle school-- the following years are going to be the best times of your life; have fun, be involved, show your true, inner self to others and don't be afraid to participate in activities you wouldn't normally participate in. Getting involved now, will help you figure out what you enjoy and what events or things you don't care for.
For many, high school is only the stepping stone to beginning a life outside of what many are familiar with. College is a huge change, and for some people, it's something they never imagined themselves getting involved in, let alone applying for and getting into. Once college begins, many teens/ young adults are on their own; left alone in the real world where they have to figure out things for themselves without their parents always being there to guide them. Starting college is also a huge accomplishment though, you get to find out who you truly are, what your talents are, what subjects interest you, and what type of career you want to pursue for the rest of your adult life.
Going to college and stepping out of your comfort zone is terribly scary, but it is a sign of growth, from constant parent and adult support, and a new beginning of a life with new knowledge of who you are and who you hope and wish to become.
