Electives in school are one of the most important parts of a high school career. And unfortunately one of the most overlooked classes is Marine Biology. This class is extremely important because it teaches students the behavior, the pyschology, and the different parts of the ocean. Should a student choose to go into one of the fields of marine science or marine animal care, this class would be extremely important to them.

Marine biology would be an extremely important required elective to students. It would teach students the behavior of marine life, something that is often not taught until college, albeit they choose to learn about it. If a student wishes to go into marine animal care, they can put on their resume for their job that they indeed took the marine biology class in high school, and can skip the hard part in college.

Marine biology would be beneficial to students in their high school career because it would teach students the pyschology and inner workings of marine animals. Many marine animal care jobs require taking pyschology as a class, and if you took it as a class, there is a chance you wouldn't have to take it, or take it as a lower level class. Students would be able to understand how these animals' minds work and they would want to protect these animals and the ocean more.

A marine biology class would be important to students because they could learn more about the different parts of the ocean. Yes, they have basic understanding, but often past that basic learning, they don't have anything past that. With that marine biology class, they would be able to learn more. Therefore, they would be able to want to protect the ocean more, to advocate more.

In conclusion, marine biology as a required elective would be extremely beneficial to high school students. They would gain a better understanding of the ocean and of marine animals, and would want to protect it more. Therefore, I think marine biology should become a required elective.
