My Ten Year Career Plan by Susan - March 2020 Scholarship Essay

It’s hard to think that in 10 years I will be living in my own house, paying my own bills, and hopefully starting a family. I will have opportunities to travel and do many other fun activities. In order to have my own house or go on vacation though, I have to be able to have a good education so that I can get a good job. My ten year career plan will include applying for scholarships, finding a good college to study Marine Biology, and receiving the position for my dream job.
Marine Biology has been a dream of mine since I was 8, I am now 16. My yearning to be a Marine Biologist came after I saw the movie DolphinTale. From that moment I fell in love with dolphins and the ocean. I decided that I wanted to have a job that involved the ocean and helping it and the animals that call the ocean home. My goal is to be a part of this job in the next 10 years and to learn as much as I can about the ocean. I have already taken a few classes to help me come closer to achieving my dream, and I plan on taking many more. One other factor that will help me to achieve my goal is applying for scholarships.
Scholarships will be a huge help towards my goal. They will help me to earn money for college, but they will also help me to improve two important skills. These skills are patience and writing. These skills are important in many fields of occupations and everyday life. The skill of patience will help me to deal with lots of work or even a small essay like this one. The skill of writing will help me throughout the rest of my schooling and help me to better write essays. Scholarships are a great opportunity for me and other students to gain money for college, so we can get a good education in the fields that we want to pursue.
Receiving my dream position would be spectacular! I will work hard in order to obtain my dream. I plan on working in Florida at Clearwater Marine Aquarium, where the movie DolphinTale took place. If I am not to get into Clearwater Marine Aquarium, then I know of many other positions that interest me at aquariums or other companies that deal with the ocean. I hope that through my future job, I will be able to interact with many sea creatures and help to protect them and the ocean.
In the next ten years, I hope to go to college and become the best Marine Biologist. I know these next ten years will not be easy. I will have to study hard and work hard in school. The goal in the end is worth all this hard work. I am excited to see what new adventures I will experience and what goals I will achieve through my future job.
