Planning towards my dream job by Stephen - February 2019 Scholarship Essay

For decades my dream job has been the computer industry. Whether it is IT, Programming, Computer Repair, or Computer Maintenance, I have dreamed of any career working with computers. My work experience has also inspired me to seek a career in computer science. The only part of my employment that I found any interest or satisfaction involved working on computers. I have dreamed of working with computers since high school and even taught myself older programming languages and Web Design. I am familiar with most programs and have used my skills to reach for employment involving computers.
I am finally in a position to further my education and have enrolled in college to focus on obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. This degree will allow me to apply for a wider variety of careers involving computers. It will help me have documented proof of my skills and experience in computers. This will increase my employ-ability in the computer industry.
College will help me increase my knowledge and experience with computer systems and programs. Not only will I expand my knowledge and experience of computers in the Computer Science course, but I can also enroll in elective classes concerning computers that are not offered in the Computer Science track. This will provide me with a well-rounded set of skills in relation to computers, expanding my career options.
My plan to attend college and obtain a bachelor’s degree is a very big step towards reaching my dream job. I will finally be able to find employment in the computer industry.
