Dinner Delight by Stephanie - February 2016 Scholarship Essay

Dinner Delight
Stephanie McClure

There are many historical figures that serve in a changing world. I do appreciate every one that took action to change lives or contribute to helping this world. However, one courageous woman had done her duties before her time was up. Mother Teresa had stand out to me! She had to be one of the most passionate woman to serve the poor and do good deeds. Mother Teresa was born in the year 1910. She had the passion to serve and help the poor. Therefore, she went to joined a group to receive training. Soon, she began doing what she loved to do! In recognition of her hard work, I would love to take Mother Teresa out to dinner because she’s a passionate, hardworking, and determined woman.

First, I would take her to a nice restaurant where there’s excellent food choice and service. I will begin to ask her question such as Why was this your primary goal? Why you choose to help people when you could have done something else? I would want to fully understand why she did this generous and kind act. Mother Teresa was taking action to what she believed, she did something that was morally right. We need more people like Teresa in the world to help, serve, and believed. If she was alive today, she continued doing her work which was helping others.

She inspired me to help other’s in need. Her hard work and determination had helped thousands of people. She was surely blessed! As we are at the dinner table waiting for our food to come, I would make our conversation interesting and ask who inspired her? We may play I spy if she want to or I’ll just say some jokes to make her smile. I would want Teresa to be comfortable! Since I know she’s a religious woman, I would have joined hands in prayer. After we had done ate, I would want to share a letter to everyone that’s at the restaurant. I would just acknowledge her and say I appreciate what you had done across sea. She had really affect lives.

I would have a server bring her gifts that I bought to show my appreciation. I would give her a picture that I draw because I like art. She can hang it up on her bedroom wall in remembrance of me on this day. It will also be Bath & Body Works in the gift bag because I know that many women do love to smell good so I will assume she like to smell good as well. I will also have a prayer hand statue because I know that she had prayed many times to be in her position.

In conclusion, I believed I would make this a day to remember. I believed that I’ll set up everything according as planned because I want to show my respect and honor her for doing what she believed was right. She’s a passionate, hardworking, and determine lady. She did reach her goal and I’m proud to say thank you Teresa for accepting my invitation to this dinner delight.
