Dean's List by Stacie - March 2014 Scholarship Essay

One of my greatest academic achievements while in college was making the Dean’s List. I made the Dean’s List at least two times and each time I am so thrilled and excited. College and my grades are extremely important and I work extremely hard to get good grades and maintain a grade point average above 3.5. I enjoy making my parents and relatives happy when they here I made Dean’s List and I do not like to disappoint them either. I am hard on myself if I do not do well on a test or in a class. Since making Dean’s List, it helped open up another avenue for me.

The Dean’s List impacted me another way, which was receiving an invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa. Due to working hard and earning good grades, I got to join Phi Theta Kappa and experience many new adventures. To see my mother’s face light up and be so proud because I joined Phi Theta Kappa was amazing and incredible. I participate in many activities since I joined this organization and have fun too.
Another avenue that opened up to me was being accepted as a transfer student to Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. I am majoring in Baking and Pastry Arts and this college only accepts a select few into this program as a transfer student. Due to my fantastic grades, character, and being in Phi Theta Kappa really helped my chances of getting accepted into this college and it paid off. I cannot wait to start school in the fall at this amazing college and learn so much more and meet new people. I am truly blessed to have this opportunity to be part of such an incredible university.
