Two brothers solving mysteries by skyler - April 2014 Scholarship Essay
The story of the Hardy Boys starring Frank and Joe Hardy was a book that I grew up reading and is probably one of the books that has had the biggest influence on me. The hardy boys always found a new case in every book. Both of them were very smart and were determined to crack the case. They always were determined to figure out who was behind each and every situation. They did whatever it took to solve a crime, even if that meant sneaking out of the house sometimes. The Hardy Boys drive and determination is really interesting to me. It makes me want to not give up on something until I have found all the answers to a situation.
In the books there was always a logical answer to almost any situation. This means that whatever I strive to be and no matter how hard it seems to find an answer. I know that with a little patience and determination I can find the answer to my problem. I have also learned that it takes a little curiosity to seek the answer to something you want. They have also showed me that you have to collect all your information, evaluate it, and take action on your idea. A mystery isn't going to solve itself; it takes determination and focus to crack the case.
Sometimes the book showed me that if you don’t take a risk then there is no reward. Basically the book showed me that you have to step out of your comfort zone and into the determination zone. That way whatever you want to do you want give up on it until all the questions have answers to them. So I will have to stay focused through all my school life in order to really see a reward at the end. It will take time and patience. I will have to have the drive to do it. I know though much like the Hardy boys there is a logical reason to almost any situation. I just have to be willing to find it.
