There are many great benefits of a college degree. Two benefits stick out to me the most when it comes to having a college degree. With a college degree, you have what I would call an “upper hand” which is very beneficial. The second advantage is that you have more opportunities in your career field.
The “upper hand” benefit as I call it is that with a college degree, you can start in a career field or business at a higher level than someone without a college degree. Having a college degree makes you more knowledgeable about your specific field which would help you in acquiring a job. The “upper hand” would also help you at job interviews because if you are applying for a job that doesn’t require a degree but you have one that aligns with that career then you would stand out compared to other applicants.
The other very beneficial benefit of having a college degree is that you would have more opportunities in your career field. When it comes to moving up the ranks at whatever your job may be experience is very important however at a certain point education also becomes very important. With a college degree you would most likely find it easier to move up the ranks at a job than people in the same career field without a degree. Being more knowledgeable and having a degree would mean that you could have a variety of jobs whereas if you don’t have a college degree your job options are more limited.
