Impact on my school by Sierra - November 2019 Scholarship Essay

My current high school is Plano Senior High. For about two years, this campus has taught me to be the person that I want to be. My school has given me options, chances, and creativity. Since my schools has given me so much, I decide to give back and take my academic career full on. The main way I believe I have positively impacted my school and the student body is through my fundraising.
Since the beginning of last year, I have fundraised for my class, known as AVID, and I have been able to raise money to go on college field trips for me and my peers. Within the past year, we have visited three colleges and were able to experience the college life. Because of my participation and helping hands, we were able to fundraise through selling donuts, flags, and merchandise at football games. AVID's impact has helped the school become known for their school spirit and hardworking students.
On one of the fundraising days, my peers and I came to campus around 7 am to sell doughnuts to the students coming into schools. We provided this breakfast at a cheap cost and It was a meal that was liked by most. Other fundraising occurred throughout school, when I sold pendants to classmates. I was able to sell all of the ones my teacher gave me and give her back the money for the fundraising. I believed I impacted the school with my fundraising skills and school spirit. And I hope to use the remainder of the to continue to have a positive impact on not only my fellow classmates and teachers, but the whole school itself.
