My Goal by Sierra - November 2017 Scholarship Essay

    Being able to travel the world is the opportunity of a lifetime. Seeing different places allows people to encounter so many new people, ideas, cultures, and history. Studying abroad would positively impact my college education in countless ways. I am the type of person that loves being outside and exploring new places. I learn best when I am somewhere I am happy, and I couldn’t be happier when I am traveling. There is so much history and art everywhere and it would be so amazing to see that first hand.
    Every person has a different learning style. Some prefer visual, some musical, and some kinesthetic. Being in another country allows students to not only get real life experience, they can use all different types of learning to embrace not only the country, but the information that they are learning while they are there. Studying abroad allows people to get the experience they need in a new environment. Personally, I learn best when I am out doing/seeing exactly what I am learning. Being in another country would be the perfect place for me to do that. Studying abroad is one of my goals for college, and I hope I get to make it come true one day.
