Tick Tock by Shelby - January 2016 Scholarship Essay
Class is over at five-twenty. I eat my dinner from on-the-go since I have a ton of homework and studying to do. It's been a long and exhausting day, I think I need a nap to re-energize myself, then I will be able to focus better and get a lot more done. Three hours later and my so-called "nap" is over.
One of my New Year's resolutions is to manage my time better so I can be more productive. On the mornings I don't have class until noon, I plan to wake up early, work out, and eat a healthy breakfast. I have found out the hard way that rolling out of bed an hour before class isn't the best start to my day. I want to make the most of my time so I can do everything I need to do each day without having to sacrifice sleep. Most nights of my first semester of college I only slept for five hours. This became exhausting and negatively interfered with my productivity the next day.
I think most people start off the new year wanting to get in shape and eat better so they can look a certain way. I want to accomplish these things to feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally. When I feel good I can accomplish many things and succeeding in all I do is what I'm striving for.
