My favorite quote is by Confucius. This person once said " A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". I believe this quote to be so true. The fist time I heard this quote was when I was in my counselors office ready to give up on school because I thought it was taking to long to get to my goals. She told me this quote and gave it to me in a picture and said "Anytime you think your not going to get to your goal or if its taking to long look up at this picture and read it to yourself and make yourself believe you can." When I start on a new path towards something I have never done I think about this quote and I tell myself I have to start somewhere and that single thing I do will get me there. Anything I try to do I have to start somewhere in life. I don't want to live a life of what ifs. I want to take that fist step and begin my journey of a thousand miles and live my life!

This quote has influenced me to be a better me. I use to so scared to even try at things because I thought I would fail at them , so I never took that first step and began to notice I was missing out on a lot in life and I thought I want to have straight A's. I want to be the best at my sport and I had to realize that I had to take that first step and I have many more steps to go to get to my goal I want to achieve. So threw years of hard work and dedication I am taking the first step of getting myself into college that's going to take me on the journey of a thousand miles!
