FLORIDA by Shanda - January 2016 Scholarship Essay

Last year for me was a year full of obstacles and goals that I would plan to achieve but some of them didn't happen and I am not sad about it because I have another year of opportunities for me to achieve. Many of us have their own perspectives on how to become a better student for 2016 and my resolution for this year that would help me to become a better student for 2016 is to become an independent student. The word independent means a lot of things for me but my basic meaning of it is a student who doesn’t have to wait for others to start something but just a student who could lead on herself no matter what others say to start something. 2015 was a hard year because I have started to see the world and people how the truly are a corrupted world and people who pretend to be someone who they aren’t just to make themselves popular or to convince others to like them. I am honestly want to make a difference in the world and community to be themselves and achieve what they propose in life.
I plan to become a better student by being independent because I don’t want any little obstacle to stop me for pursuing what I want in life or to ruin my life just because I didn't choose the correct people to hang out with or because I just didn't choose the best choices in life. I plan to become a better student by finishing High School and then going to college and start my major on Biology or Chemistry to become a future pediatrician. I know that saying and doing it is two different words but I am positively sure that I am going to do this just for me, my family and God because the are always believing in me no matter what other people say and they are always there for me even in the toughest moments in my life. I want to be independent so I don’t have to depend in someone to be a better and wealthy person but instead on depending in myself and achieving things by myself. I don’t want money to stop me for pursuing my doctorate because I think money shouldn’t be an obstacle that could stop me from becoming what I want in life. In conclusion, I know that I am a great student who wants to be always a better student and a better person in life and I am always going to have a thousand of resolutions to become a better person but we make the difference by choosing between the good or the bad path.
