Lesson learned in 2022 by Seema - December 2022 Scholarship Essay
I learned so many lessons in 2022 that will impact my goals for 2023, One thing I learned in 2022 is that family is the most important thing in the world, and spending time with them is even more important. I learned that being the best version of myself with my family is the most important thing because when you lose that person it will be really hard because nothing but regret will be left with you. No matter how much you miss that person or want to meet with them you won't be able to.
I grew up with my grandma at the same house and I loved my grandma so much. However, as I started growing I spent less time with her and my family. I was always on my phone or with my friends. One day my grandma got really sick and had to go to the ER. I didn’t much of it thinking it was that time she had to go to the ER. However, the next morning I get a call from the ER.and the doctor said “ I am sorry we tried to save her but we couldn’t” my heart dropped. Suddenly all of those memories with my grandma came back. At that moment I realized how big of a mistake I had made. As days went by I started to miss my grandma more and more but couldn’t do anything except think of the memories I had with her. I learned the lesson that family is the most important thing and we need to do our best to spend time with them as much as we can. We need to show our family how much we truly love them.
Another lesson is that goal setting is very important in life because when you have a goal it means that you have reasons for your hard work. It means that you have a level that you need to reach. I learned that goal setting is one of the best motivational things to do because it inspires you to work harder and harder. Even though you don’t want to work hard it will still motivate you. I have learned that I am well and need to set goals for myself for the next year. I believe that setting goals also makes a person much more organized and make everything in life so much easier for them over time.
