As I look ten years into the past, I see myself as a child, envisioning a lifestyle of freedom, both financially and physically. I had not a clue as to what I was going to do, but I knew my future would not be filled with worry, but with security and comfort. Now as I look ten years into the future, I envision the same goal, however am twice as determined to reach it. I desire to be a successful business owner in ten years, working hard to expand my business and hiring the employees I believe would help my business surpass its competitors.
The business major in college offers a variety of different courses that would assist me on my goal. A class such as marketing would teach me how to promote my business and sell products. A class such as entrepreneurship would teach me how to create the business and be a good owner. These classes and the many others that college would offer me to expand my education on business would greatly contribute to my goal of becoming a successful business owner.
College is also a place of many connections. In today's day, connections play as much of a role in your success, possibly even more, than a degree does. In my classes, I would be surrounded by people with the same mindset, interested in the same major. I would have connections to professors with masters and doctorate degrees in my field of interest, as well as many internship opportunities filled with connections. These are opportunities that would be almost impossible to get outside of college.
In ten years from now, I see myself as a business owner on the road to becoming financially successful and free. I see myself working hard, using the skills I learned and getting opportunities from the connections I met in college. Through all these connections and beneficial classes, I see it as a very possible goal to reach in ten years.
