College Students Studing Aboard by Sean - March 2016 Scholarship Essay

I have recently discovered a couple years ago what is most important goal for me to have in the future. I don’t care about my occupation, is as long as it gets me enough money. I’m not worried about where I will be living at, as long as I gives me the best opportunity to be successful. The only thing that matter to is I want to know I can support my family and give the best life possible.
Every child has dream job of what they what to be when they grow up. I would love to play basketball for a living but that wouldn’t put food on the table every night. I want to know that when I come home from my job my family will be able to have a good meal and have good living conditions. The thought of my future drives me to do the best I can in school now so my family will be able to live a relaxed life. Living paycheck to paycheck is not an option for me, I want to have reinsurance that my family will be put in the best situation possible. If that means I’m working in a cubical all day or for a terrible boss I will. I want what is best for my family and I will not settle for less.
As of right now high school is my biggest stepping stone I need to get over to better my future. It is preparing me for college which is what is going to prepare me for my life ahead. Good grades in high school now will open more doors for me in college. Getting a good college education is a short term goal for me. A good college education will help my family and I have the best future possible. Also I’m playing basketball on my high school team is preparing me for my future. I am the captain on the basketball which allows me to practice a leadership role. I will need to be a leader for my family, similar to how I need to be a leader for my team now. My teammate know I will do anything for them and I always have their backs. When I get a family I will make sure they know I will always be there for them.
The next 5 years of my life will be used to prepare my future and all that it holds. I will stay motivated and determined to make my future the best I can by working hard now. Having my family struggle is not an option for me and I will work hard every day to make sure that doesn’t happen.
