Learning from the Curveballs in Life by Sayler - September 2018 Scholarship Essay

Life can change in a split second. You never know what's going to happen and who's going to enter your life. In the next 25 years I would like to say that I would be successful. Not in the sense of having a lot of money, but in the sense that I have not stopped learning and that I am happy. You learn something new every day and I plan to follow this for the rest of my life.

Books are not the only things that give people knowledge. Life experiences give people knowledge and by the time I am 43 I will have many experiences to look back on to gain knowledge from. Nothing really prepares you for life than actually living it. To see how the world works you have to experience it at its worst and at its finest.

Another thing that gives people knowledge is people that you trust and are close to you. Knowing that my family will stand by me for the rest of my life tells me that I can always learn from them even 25 years from now. Other people who will help me learn 25 years from now are my current friends or even new friends. Friends grow and learn from each other because of their differences and similarities. Helping us learn from each other from experiences and differences in knowledge.

I don’t really know how my life will be in the future because things can change in an instant. One decision can change my entire life, but learning from my family, from my friends, and from own life experiences I know that I will never stop learning.
