Larks Vs. Owls by Savannah - January 2019 Scholarship Essay

Studies show that people are identified as two different chronotypes, a lark and an owl. These people show their personalities or energy during different hours of the day.
When identifying someone as a “lark” or a “owl”, the first step of the scientific process is to observe. Whether it is grogginess all day and sudden energy at night or jumping up from bed and working out first thing when they wake up. As an individual I feel more energetic and positive in the mornings and more exhausted in the evenings.
For example, I start my day by counting my blessings with God and thank him for all that he's given me; healthy organs, friends and family are alive, and even I'm alive. During the day I am at school, work, and on top of that I help with family when I get home. By the end of the day my eyes grow tired before dusk.
Another “lark” reason is that I can do more things during the day whereas at night, visibility is limited for me. Knowing that I cannot see at night, my attitude towards being a day person increases. Night owls tend to stay up late or even carry themselves to the next morning, but during my day, I stay busy on my feet, in which later I'm too exhausted to stay up past ten o’clock at night.
