There are many different things that contribute to creating a successful school project. These key things include preparation, research, time, effort, and focus. Preparation is key; without preparing all the materials one would need for a school project while also preparing oneself with the knowledge needed for the project, there is no way to have a successful project. Preparing oneself can include things such as gathering materials for a poster-board or project, learning to create a professional PowerPoint, or making detailed and helpful note cards to help walk one through a presentation. Having the materials and knowledge of what kind of project one is creating for school is very important to having success.
Another key item to success is the research put into the project. Whether that be research on a specific topic or research on how to make a project or presentation. If one does not have a knowledgeable background on the information that is needed, there is no chance of a good and detailed project. Especially when it comes to the grading portion, a teacher will be able to know whether one is making up information and using inferences, or if one has put in the research that will make a project stand out.
The next two items to help guarantee success go hand in hand, time and effort. It is something that is heard over and over again, but still very important. Without putting in enough time into the project, there will be a lack of effort. One needs to create enough time for oneself in order to do a great job on a project and earn a good grade. A project is a reflection of how much time and effort that one puts in; it is generally very obvious when one puts in a good amount of time and effort versus when one does not.
Lastly, another important element to success in a project is focus. Goal orientation is important to earning that good grade. One needs to know what they want when they begin, rather than guessing as one goes along. Really working for what will be the best project that will earn the highest grade. Do not get distracted by other things, turn off phones or silence them, turn off t.v.'s, and let others know that the project is one's main focus right now. Everything else can wait.
All of these keys to success can go together. Without the preparation of ones research, a lack of focus, time, and effort, a successful project will not be achieved.
