The Noblest Prize by Sarah - December 2018 Scholarship Essay
There can be some amazing people in the world around us and most of the time we fail to recognize their efforts. However, every year, The Nobel Prize is awarded to someone who has excelled in fields such as science, history, music, or related topics. This kind of prize gives us as a nation to properly congratulate those people, but there are certain requirements for such an honor.
An important factor for a person's award is the outcome of their research or whatever it is they were working so hard on. While failure is truly the greatest lesson of all, having a reliable outcome to prove your theory is a good reason to be given an award. It shows the amount of hard work and diligence you put into what you think is true or right. Some past Nobel Prize Winners have works almost half of their life working of their projects or theories and spent little time away from it. Hard work is a characteristic that is valued all over the world and should be used in everything you do. The Nobel Prize should be used to show people what an example of hard work is, and should only be awarded to those who know what hard work means when put into practice.
A similar trait that should be distinguished during the awarding is humility. People who expect to be given anything they please, when they please, have no idea what the word 'humility' means. Those who are humble in receiving the award or even gifts have a correct mindset. They see things as owned to someone else and do not take them for granted. Such a prize as The Nobel Prize is not one for people who don't appreciate the value of allowing others to go before yourself and humble themselves before others. IF we look for humility in a potential winner, we can be assured that they will be grateful and most importantly, they will use this award as a stepping stone further into their drive for knowledge.
With these two characteristics in mind, the Noble Prize Winner nominations may be slimmer, but they will be people who do not disappoint. The recipient will be thankful and happy as will the people who see their example of excellence. For we shouldn't spare any expense when it comes to choosing a winner for the noblest prize.
