The English Teacher by Sarah - October 2016 Scholarship Essay
Imagine , you're 16 , you don't care much of what the teacher goes through except entering your grades and teaching you material you need to know to pass the class. Thats what most kids think. Think back when you were just starting school , walking into your elementary school gates and seeing who your teacher was. Growing up I bet you thought once or twice about being a teacher. It seemed so fun. Till you reached middle school , then high school , then college , the amount of advanced material and papers and students you had to face. You didn't mind much since you were only 16 and didn't have to worry about that.
One day you wake up , you realize you aren't in your home , the one that you live with your parents / guardian , your a grown adult and that roles just switched. You are a teacher now. If i had the choice to pick ay subject to teach, it would be english. the reason i would love to teach english , not only because it is my favorite subject , because its the most important subject ever! I mean , you wouldn't even know how to speak or know the alphabet if it wasn't for the wonderful class of english. In english , you learn grammar , vocabulary , read amazing pieces of literature and learn how to become an excelled writer. As for me, writing is a big part of my life, writing is super important in the world.
The fact why I love english is because it uses a lot of you creative side of your brain but you don't even notice it. english may be in a academic criteria, but to me its an art. without english, there would be no art of film or novels. In english class you interact most with you students and structuring the creative and world changing minds of the future generation. You have the talent of teaching literature and a language to help others pursue their dreams. Who wouldn't want to be a english teacher ?
