My father struggled with stress and vision problems when I was growing up, so my decision to specialize in nursing was quite personal. I witnessed the significant influence medical professionals had on his life and well-being at an early age. My drive to improve other people's lives was sparked by observing my dad's health struggles.

I became aware of the value of compassionate care and the important role nurses play in easing both physical and emotional suffering as I watched my father's challenges. The nurses who cared for my dad provided comfort and empathy in addition to attending to his medical needs. I will never forget this first-hand introduction to the nursing field, which ignited a desire to serve the underprivileged. Beyond the physical components, the human aspect of healthcare piqued my interest. I learned from my father's experiences that healing from illness involves more than just managing symptoms; it also entails promoting compassion, understanding, and a sense of community. This insight motivated me to seek a career that emphasizes comprehensive patient care rather than focusing only on medical details.
