Anxiety Relief by Sara - August 2022 Scholarship Essay
One of my biggest academic struggles has always been my anxiety. I often find it difficult to settle in a new school. Throughout middle school I had let opportunities pass me because I felt out of place. I wouldn’t attend after school activities, I was more reserved, and I was not as active in my community as I would have liked.
This year I will be attending Augusta University as a dual enrollment student and my goal is to take full advantage of everything the campus has to offer. I hope to study more on campus, make new friends, and engage in my classes. I plan to do this by taking care of myself better. Staying hydrated and getting enough sleep can reduce anxiety. My support system such as my mom and sister also play a large role. I am going to ask for help when I need it, and if they can’t help, I want to be able to contact people like tutors and professors for help.
If I complete this goal, it will allow me to be more active in my community and more independent. It will help me improve my grades and better understand the material both on more academic levels and personal levels. Achieving this goal also means having a more balanced personal life.
