Game On by Samara - December 2017 Scholarship Essay

When any student hears the words “school project” the immediate thought that follows is “oh no this is going to be a lot of work”. However, I have trained myself to think better. When I am assigned a school project I take it as a challenge. Generally, projects have a greater weight on your grades, while this may cause some people stress it gives me the motivation to do my best. My strategy is to take projects on with a positive attitude and a drive to do well. Now when I am faced with the task of a new project I first think “how can I make this project my best work”.

I have found that the new mindset I have developed and nurtured has helped me progress exponentially. Not only in school projects but in sports, work, and really anything I face on a daily basis. In the past I would stress over projects and let them overwhelm me. But now that I think of them more as challenges rather than just a chunk of points on my grade I find them much easier to take on. The way I think about projects has changed which has helped me changes the way I face them. My new mindset has helped me react more positively to projects and the challenges that accompany them. I am even able to react to simple everyday things with a more positive attitude. By transforming my mindset to be more adaptable I have been more successful with my school projects. I also like to think I'm being a more successful person in general. My strategy is to approach my new task with a drive to succeed and a positive outlook. With this strategy there isn't anything I can't do.
