A Promising Road Ahead: The Future of Education by Samantha - July 2022 Scholarship Essay
Over the next 10 years it would be wonderful to see education significantly improve. There are many dimensions to education, and I will attempt to tackle most of what I feel is important to accomplish this as a goal. We cannot even begin to comprehend the value of education. The fundamental issue is that educators must be able to have access to necessary tools in order to perform their profession effectively and their pay should be equal to the importance of educating the youths of our future. Essentially, an educator means that you are being given the opportunity to be placed in front of a group of curious minds and be able to present novel concepts, ideas, and factual information that they can absorb. Using these learned items our youths can go into the world and make it a better place.
This should start with educators receiving adequate compensation so that they may be confident that their retirement years will be just as fulfilling as the knowledge and skills they have imparted to their students. One of the main objectives is to work from the bottom up, ensuring that students from pre-K to 12th grade receive the best education they can from the best teachers, with the tools they need in a 21st century classroom, in order to be able to move on to the next level, which would be college. In my ideal world, admission to the college of your choosing would be determined only by academic ability and interpersonal qualities. It is possible to offer free higher education to all students. I don't see why the foundation of the entire college system is focused on financial factors. It must be so difficult for people in our society to graduate from college with massive debt brought on by the pressure of student loans. How do you become a success by starting in extreme debt? It makes no sense to encourage inventive and ambitious people to incur debt simply because they desire to receive a top-notch education.
One of my hopes is that those in positions of political power, who have the ability to solve this problem, will recognize that this country always finds a way to pay for things like war, pandemic, and recession. But we don't consider our educational future, or the future citizens of this country, who will be the entire backbone of it. As a result, I envision higher education in the future as being free of all student loans and open to all students. In addition, favoring facts and sciences instead of sensationalism. In the future, I see education encouraging and working to help people of all ages, races, and cultures genuinely understand one another. A future where common ground with other students is not found in the fact that one is of a certain race, or religion, but rather that we are all part of one race, the human race, and one understanding between us that we are comprised of many religions with mutual respect, compassion for each other and tolerance of others for what they believe. A world where people can choose to be who they want to be without fear of rejection or criticism from others.
To put it simply, the future of education should be to purely educate using facts, scientific data, creativity and social interaction. We can only accomplish this task in ten years if we dedicate ourselves to these goals, without hesitation. To do this, we would need to begin immediately, but everything is possible if we put our minds to it. We live in a world where information is available at our fingertips all the time. The time to start our ten year time of future education is now.
