Living in the Moment by Samantha - November 2018 Scholarship Essay

When in the moment, you don't really take time to think about that moment until later on and you think to yourself a few months later. An example of this may be, "Wow I remember that fun time I had at prom, that was so much fun! I wish I could go back in time and relive it."
As my senior year is starting to end, I guess that means it is time to pick a senior quote. Therefore, my quote will be, "We didn't realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun." (-Pooh Bear) I want to use this as my quote because this is in fact true of me so far of senior year. Throughout high school I did not realize how fast it was going by until I saw on the whiteboard in math class that we only have nine more days until the first trimester of my senior year is over.
Looking back on past years, I was so anxious to finish high school and move on with my life. Unfortunately, it went by way quicker than anticipated, and I wish I would have taken some time to soak in all of the fun times school provided me with instead of complaining about having to be here six hours almost everyday.
Now that it is time to start moving on from the high school life, I don't want to leave my friends and teachers. However, I do know that I will always have the unforgettable memories to look back on forever. Lastly, having this as my senior quote makes me want to set a goal for myself, which will be to take a couple seconds to pause time once in awhile and really enjoy living in the moment.
