Podcast on Leadership by Sairy - August 2018 Scholarship Essay

If I had a popular education podcast, it would center around the topic of leadership. I firmly believe that regardless of the professional path or educational field that one chooses, in order for anyone to succeed in reaching their goals, they must be able to lead themselves and set a positive example for their team. My podcast would focus on various leadership styles and how individuals can adopt a leadership style that is unique to them while also positively affecting those around them. Each week I would invite someone in a leadership role to chime in and provide a background on how they overcame obstacles in their career and developed skills that helped them in becoming effective, charismatic, inspiring leaders. Additionally, I would hold a weekly Q&A session where I would address any questions or concerns that my audience may have.
It is important for me to develop and enhance my leadership skills in order to be able to empower others to become better leaders. As someone with an introverted personality, it is of utmost importance that I set a positive example as a leader and prove that introverts can be great leaders and can effectively lead their teams towards success and I would love to be able to inspire others to do the same. In my podcast, I would focus on discussing ways through which my audience can develop or improve their sense of self-awareness in order for them to better utilize their strengths and to detect any areas that might need improvement. I would then provide tips on how these weaknesses can be turned into hidden opportunities that can provide a breakthrough of positive results and improvements.
