In the Mere Future by Sage - March 2025 Scholarship Essay

Over the years I have thought about where I will be in 10 years, and I have hopes that I will be moved out on my own and starting a family. My education has led me to the career that I would like to be in and that is working in Mental Health. I am currently in the process of achieving that goal and know that I will have a job that I enjoy and have been working hard for. Over the years, we students have been asked what we want to do when we are older or if we want to go to college or not. And finally, after those years, I have discovered that working in social work or broader, mental health is what I want to do. I am a senior as well as a part-time college student, working on my Addictions, Mental Health, and Social Work Assistant associate's degree. This led me to more connections, more opportunities, and more experience. Currently, I work at Rhodes, the same place where I am working on my degree, I am a Mental Health Peer Advocate. This gives me the chance to gain some insight and experience from some well-known mental health people.
