Honored to Dine with Such a Man by Sabrena - October 2017 Scholarship Essay
Barack Hussein Obama is the only president I’d ever want to meet in person, let alone have dinner with. He was the epitome of change in the 21 century. Not just any change, positive change. Obama’s literally a boss. An influential, compassionate boss. A superhero with no need for a cape. He’s one of the few people I looks towards in society and meeting him would be an honor. Having dinner with him would make me feel even more honored.
Most people would see Barack Obama just as being the forty- fourth president of the United States but to me he’s just like everyone else. The energy I’ve witnessed from him in many of his speeches and his interactions with society really gravitated me towards him. As a young adult seeking great guidance, I am all for the type of energy a person gives off. His honest and chill demeanor also makes him someone I’d love to sit, chat and eat with. Barack Obama’s intellect also doesn’t cloud his ability to be relatable to a person let alone humorous. He’s truly an all around people person, no wonder he was the president of the United States for two terms.
Obama seems like an amazing person to converse with. His beliefs would leave an endless amount of conversations to discuss. Now I’m not one to bombard him with political and opinionated questions because I’m sure he get enough of that day to day. Just knowing that no topic is too touchy for him to discuss is an amazing feeling.
Barack is both Black and woke for civil rights and liberties. He’s obviously all about equality, integrity, and the unification of all people. He has hope for society. Believes in peace, healing, and caring for the environment. His family also follows, supports and express his beliefs. Now if those qualities doesn’t make a person want to sit and eat a salad with you then I don’t know what will.
As I mentioned previously, Obama is a boss and the epitome of change. For he did things within his term that benefited everyone. Not only did he do things that benefited everyone but he is also for the people...all people. He supports all people, races, religions, and the the LGBT community. He’s supports women, their children, veterans, middle class, upper class, all classes, and just everyone who exists. There’s nothing else to say than meeting and having the opportunity to eat a meal with former president, Barack Obama.
