Going to college has always been a goal of mine. I enjoyed my first year more than I anticipated. Most people would assume I mean that I enjoyed the extracurricular activities the most, however, that is not what made my first year so great. I am working to become a professional pilot. I finished my freshman year of college with my Private Pilot Certification. That is just the first step in my dream of flying.

As exciting as this has been, and as much as I look forward to finishing out the remainder of my degree, I get disheartened by the amount of student loan debt I am accumulating. The cost of going to a university would be the biggest area in education that would be great to see changed over the next 10 years. I understand that it costs to pay professors, and other staff and faculty. I know it costs to keep a college campus looking great and working properly. However, I do not understand why tuition has to be so outrageous that student loans are a necessity just to be able to earn a degree.

I believe more people would pursue a college degree if it was more affordable. I hope one day it will not cost so much to earn a great education from the schools of our dreams.
