Picking a Senior Yearbook Quote by Ruth - November 2018 Scholarship Essay
Picking a senior quote is can be a very interesting process. You can either have a funny quote or a serious one. It can either be sad or inspirational. Sometimes people just have the yearbook instructor pick one out for them because they don’t want to. Or you can be like me a look up famous inspirational Disney/Pixar quotes.
For my senior quote, I had a hard time between picking “Just keep swimming” from Finding Nemo and “All it takes is faith, trust, and pixie dust” for Peter Pan. I decided to use “ Just keep swimming”. I picked this quote because it makes a lot of sense to me. No matter what life brings you, good or bad, you have to keep going and just keep swimming.
Another reason I picked this quote is because I got bullied a lot in elementary and middle school and some in my first two years of High School. During those times, I was told that I could never accomplish anything because I wasn't pretty or thin or super smart. I would get told to never wear shorts, leggings, or tank top style shirts because of my weight. No matter what people said to me, I just kept being me. I never let their words affect me in any way. I just kept going. After a while more bad things kept happening to me with friends and family and school, but i just kept going on with my life.
In the future, I will keep this quote close to me. No matter what life brings you, you just need to keep swimming and move on with whatever it is.
So picking out a senior quote can be easy or hard depending on how you want to do it. But no matter what, you have to “Just keep swimming.”
