During a person's career as a student, they learn a variety of skills. These skills are used almost everyday or are forgotten by the time they graduate from whatever institution that they graduate from. The skills that are learned are almost always important and useful to the student. The same could be said about I. During 2021 I learned multiple skills that helped me in class. However, the most important skill I strengthened was the skill of critical thinking.
I of course had this skill before 2021, but it wasn't as refined as it became during last year. Throughout my studies during the year of 2021, I have been able to refine it to new heights. I can thank my concurrent English Comp. class through Rose State University. The various essays I wrote for this class required me to think deeper about the topic and how to connect various pieces of evidence. An example of one of these essays is the ad analysis. This essay required me to see what the ad was actually selling and how it was selling it. I had to find out what this ad was appealing to. Another class that helped me practice was Ap Government. I had to think what various legislation and court cases did to the country, and how it affected its denizens.
This practice has helped me in many ways. It has allowed me to refine my most important skill that I have. Critical thinking will help me take tests, and thrive in class by being able to look at material in a different way. I believe that this skill will help me in my future as well. My critical thinking will give me an edge on other students in University or employment. This skill was essential to learn and is imperative that I continue to grow throughout my academic career.
