New Years Resolution by Ricki - January 2016 Scholarship Essay

Ricki Lindley
New Years Resolution
15 January 2016
When entering the new year, individuals are faced with many challenges. Such challenges may include eating healthier, working more, or even doing better in school. As a high school senior my new year's resolution was to not be such a procrastinator. The first step in achieving this resolution was admitting that I am a very good procrastinator.
As a high school senior I am starting to enter the final phases of my high school career. Before I know it, it will be graduation day. Everyday I hear this statement from my peers; do I believe them at first, no. This is why I have made it my new year’s resolution to not procrastinate. Since January 1st, 2016 I have not been procrastinating. At first this was not any easy thing for me. I would think that waiting to finish my work is the best way to do it. Later I found out that waiting to do my work resulted in lesser quality work. My grades were not where I wanted them to be.Now every assignment I get in school or every task I get at my job, I try to complete with the best of my ability.
Finally, I have made it my personal goal to complete all my assignments and tasks on time and with the best of my ability. Starting the new year right is the best way to achieve the goals I have set before me. With the help of my peers I will be able to achieve my goals before I take on college. When I am in college this will still be my personal goal, but for now I need to focus on successfully finishing my high school career.
