DESCRIBE ONE NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION THAT WILL HELP YOU BECOME A BETTER STUDENT IN 2016
A failure to plan as a student is a plan to fail. When a student fails to prepare for his exams very well, he is simply preparing to fail and when he fails to plan for his future adequately, he is wishing himself a miserable live. Education is the key to success but not everybody that has the access to a quality education.
In Africa, a lot of intelligent children wish to go to school, we wish to attend good universities and colleges with a conducive environment for learning but all our hope and attempt are been brushed out by poverty. Poverty limits a student and makes him a looser before his mates.
Millions and millions of students are been affected by poverty and I am one of those students affected. Am one of those students who cannot pay their tuition fee without the help of someone, but I believe God will see me through my difficulties and I will never give up on my struggle for a quality education.
My resolution for this year, 2016 is to gain scholarship and study abroad in any country. Scholarship is something every student looks up to especially those of us from poor families. Scholarship gives us equal opportunity with other children for rich families. It helps us to attend a well equipped university with a conducive environment for learning. It gives us right to quality education and helps us to measure up with others in the society. A student on scholarship is not bothered with how to pay his tuition fee but he only thinks about how to concentrate on his studies and be one of the best students in the school.
However, I know that getting a scholarship is not an easy task and that’s why I have started making a huge effort to make my dream a successful one. I have decided to spend more time on my studies by waking up in the mid night to study one text book or the other from 3am – 6am daily. I equally read in the day time and also attend extra moral classes. In addition, I will be taken English proficiency exam in two months time to enable me apply for scholarships as it is been required from international students whose mother’s tongue is not English (not all university request for it since English is the official language in Nigeria)
With these steps and more, I strongly believe that I will achieve my dream of gaining a scholarship to study abroad and when I do that, I will surely work very hard to be among the best students in my department.
