Nobel Prize Winner by Richard - December 2018 Scholarship Essay
I find myself in a tight spot. I have been privileged to be in the committee that awards the Nobel Prize. One would think this would be easy. You pick out the brightest, most intelligent person that can make a difference in this world. This world has many of these type of people. So I would like to narrow this down closer to better this world.
First, I would look to see what type of person this is. Has this person made a difference in his/her own community? Meaning, they have to be more than just a leader. Do they pick others up in the community when they are down? Do they work as a team within the community?
Second, I would take a look to see if they are good role model. To others in their community strive to be them, or look up to them? I would hope that they are that type of person that everyone works to be like one day. I would not want to choose someone that others think is just another intelligent person. They have to also be an outstanding citizen as a good role model.
It is not as easy as one would think. You cannot just pick out the qualities that I listed in the beginning. You have to take the time to study these people and see if this is not just an honor to them, but the community that they come from. If that community would be proud of themselves for having to known this person.
