Candlelit Romantic Dinner with My Man Al Einstein by Richard - February 2016 Scholarship Essay
There is a long list of people I would like to have dinner with, but as a man of science studying engineering, I would appreciate a long talk with my main man Mr. Albert Einstein. His story left us all with a lot to learn from, and not just scientists! My boy Al was considered a slow learner as a young kid, and he even failed the entrance exam to his university and had to reapply a year later! How many or my peers writing essays here can say that happened to them? Yet Einstein persisted, and eventually succeeded to the point where he is still being commended to this date, long after his time, on his findings and successes. Even today his theory of relativity is being proven by gravitational waves from black holes!
When I was applying for colleges, I thought that being rejected was one of the worst things that could happen. I feared, as many others do, that I may not be up to the challenge. What if I do not get accepted? What if I cannot bear the workload that lies beyond the walls of my high school? If I could have a candle-lit dinner (okay, maybe not so romantic) with my homie Albert Einstein, I could ask him if he felt similar to how I did, and how he coped with his failures. I could ask him for studying and motivational tips and learn from his greatness. I could be an even better person than I am today, and I could say that I met one of the most revered geniuses of all time: the man himself, Albert Einstein!
