Work Ethic Comeback by Reeva - August 2022 Scholarship Essay
The pandemic lockdown of 2020 hitting the world like a truck is something we can all agree on. In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, the in-person schools had come to a pause and most schools in the nation turned to online learning instead. Learning solely on devices was what the education system had to turn to. For some, this was relieving as they didn’t enjoy school or just worked more efficiently at home. But for most, including me, traditional school kept them sane and disciplined them through their work - with the present teachers and the competitiveness of challenging peers. We thrive in academic rigor. As a result, my work ethic took a descent. I noticed I wasn’t as focused on my daily activities or as determined to complete my assignments.
Therefore, this coming school year, I plan to make conscious efforts to finish my school tasks. Every assignment that is given to me will be attempted to the best of my ability, while simultaneously maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Additionally, a long-term academic goal of mine is to graduate early from high school. To be the best student, I will communicate with my teachers and make sure to achieve high grades this upcoming year.
