Leaving my mark by Reagan - November 2019 Scholarship Essay

Last year, my friend Jocelyn and I were considering what to do for our CAS Project. We eventually settled on hosing a Christmas Night at the school where we would show a movie, serve hot cocoa, and then donate the proceeds to Santa Paws, an animal holiday charity.
My CAS Advisor knew that if anybody could do it, it would be my friend and I. Mr. Garcia believed that we could plan it out in just about a month and everything would go well. Given all the details that needed to be planned out like booking a space, buying the supplies, getting the movie, etc, Jocelyn and I decided to bring two friends onto the team: Dejah and Jada.
Surprisingly, booking the space ended up being the hardest part. No one would respond to our emails. Luckily, Mr. Garcia and Mr. Weber (the teacher next door) let us use their rooms to host the event. All of the struggle ended up being worth it. Everyone who attended was incredibly satisfied with what they were participating in and to make it even better, we were helping pets in need. To this day, people will ask me if I am going to do another one this year. That is yet to be decided but I know that if I do, it'll have a positive impact on the student body, just like the last one.
