Success in College by Raymond - February 2021 Scholarship Essay
Success in College means everything to me. It will give me the opportunity to follow my dreams and goals to become a physical education teacher and coach.
In third grade I was diagnosed with a processing disorder. Over years of help by extra help classes, teachers, my parents and hard work I have learned strategies to help me be successful. Going to college is my first step in my goals that I count as a success.
Gaining a college degree in physical education would be like never working a day. I play sports, currently taking classes at my local BOCES for Sports Medicine and volunteer coach for younger players for baseball and basketball. I have found a passion that I was not even looking for over the past two years. I plan on taking it further by becoming a Physical Education teacher and passing my passion to younger/growing generations.
Success has a different meaning for everybody. For me, it does not mean fame, latest and greats possessions or extreme wealth, it means happiness. Happiness in what I do, happiness in what I can do for others, happiness I can pass on. My parents always told me to make the best of any situation and find your happiness. And that is what I plan on doing by gaining a college degree.
Thank you for your consideration.
