A Broken Heart by Raven - February 2025 Scholarship Essay

The heart is an amazing organ that works constantly to keep us alive. I became interested in heart health after learning about broken heart syndrome and cardiomyopathy. These conditions showed me how complex and delicate the heart can be. My passion for sports and curiosity about the heart led me to pursue a career in sonography, with the goal of becoming a cardiovascular technologist.

As I study physics and anatomy and begin my ultrasound program, I am excited to learn more about how the heart functions. I am especially interested in echocardiography, which uses ultrasound to examine the heart. This technology helps doctors diagnose and monitor heart conditions, allowing them to provide better treatment.

After completing my ultrasound program, I plan to earn certifications in cardiovascular sonography. These certifications will help me advance in my career and expand my knowledge of heart health. I also want to continue researching heart conditions, especially those affecting athletes and active individuals.

My goal is to help diagnose heart conditions early and improve patient care. By specializing in cardiovascular sonography, I hope to make a positive impact in the medical field and help people live healthier lives.
