Dinner with President Barack Obama by Raphell - October 2017 Scholarship Essay
All of our presidents have their own good characteristics that people like about them. Everyone doesn’t like the same president, in fact people may dislike some more than others. Everyone has the right to have a favorite president and mine is President Barack Obama. He’s the president I would want to sit and have dinner with.
I remember the night President Obama won the election like it was yesterday, I was in the 4th grade. Now I know I didn’t know a lot about the election, I just knew the winner would be the new president, and as a result of the election we got our first black president. From elementary to my senior year of high school I grew up with Barack Obama as my President. Over the years I got to know him, and I honestly look up to him as a role model.
President Obama is an all-around good person. He knows a lot ranging from political views, to our society as a whole. I feel like I could talk to him about certain situations and my problems, and in return he would give me great advice. He is not serious all the time, he also has a good sense of humor. I’ve witnessed all the good times he’s had with his family, presidential team, and championship teams visiting the White House.
On a more serious note, I thank President Barack Obama for taking on the responsibilities of being our 44th President of the United States of America, and doing everything he has done for us. Through all the Ups and Downs, he managed to make and leave a positive impact on our nation. President Barack Obama is the definition of a true leader, and is the one president I would want to sit down and have dinner with.
