In 10th grade, I took an anatomy and physiology class without expecting much from it. However, I quickly became fascinated by how the human body works. Since I was a child, I had always wondered how we are able to swallow, how our hearts keep beating, and how our bodies function every day. The class started with lessons on muscles and bones, showing me how much support they provide in our daily lives. From that moment, I fell in love with science and healthcare.
Learning about the heart, brain, and other systems in the body deepened my passion for understanding how everything works together. The challenges of the class pushed me to think critically and made me appreciate the value of education and learning. It was in that classroom that I realized nursing was the perfect career for me—it combines my love for science with the ability to care for others in a meaningful way.
Nurses play a vital role in patients’ lives, offering comfort, support, and advocacy. The idea of being the voice, the hand, and the strength for someone in need truly inspired me. I’ve seen how much of a difference a nurse can make during difficult times, and I want to be that person for others.
For me, nursing isn’t just a job—it’s a purpose. It means being there for people at their lowest moments, offering reassurance and care. Waking up every day knowing I can make someone’s day a little better is what drives me. I’m excited to continue my education in nursing, with the goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist in the future.
