Ten years from now, I see myself as a marine biologist, working on research that helps conserve and protect the ocean’s ecosystems. I imagine being in the field, collecting data on marine species, studying coral reefs, or conducting research on the effects of climate change on marine life. I picture myself collaborating with other scientists, sharing findings, and contributing to efforts that make a positive difference in the world’s oceans. Whether it's through working with governmental agencies, environmental organizations, or universities, my goal is to use my knowledge and skills to protect marine environments and raise awareness about the importance of ocean conservation.

My education has already played an important role in setting me on this path. As a senior in high school, I’ve taken every opportunity to explore my interest in science, especially biology and environmental studies. I’ve always been fascinated by marine life, and science classes have deepened that fascination by teaching me about the complex systems of life on Earth and the sensitive balance required to sustain them. I’ve also participated in extracurricular activities, such as science clubs and environmental volunteer projects, where I’ve learned more about real-world applications of the science I’ve studied. These experiences have helped shape my understanding of marine biology and have reinforced my desire to pursue it as a career.

In college, I plan to major in marine biology, and I know this will be the next step in my education that will help me reach my goals.
