Project Your Success by Rachel - December 2017 Scholarship Essay
School projects can be a very daunting task. Whether it is an individual or group school project you always think about whether or not you can make the best content for the project, or even if you are doing it wrong. The best strategy for success is separating the parts into sections that are easier to do, whether it be time or by specific parts of the project that needs to be done. That way you won’t have a bunch of things to do on the day before it is due.
Spreading out your work is a very important part in success on a school project. You do not have to worry about turning in a project that is mediocre or not up to your standards because you know you worked on it for a couple of days so you put as much effort as you believed you could put. I personally have procrastinated while doing a individual project up until the couple of hours before it was due. And, it was tragic. I got a C- for my sloppy and quick presentation that I threw together for turnitin.com. But, of course, sometimes you do not get motivated enough to start the project early because you think “I have lots of time”. However, if you really think about it the earlier that you start on a project the earlier you can get it over with to work on other important homework or even nap. Projects are a big part of grades sometimes and risking it for a low grade because of procrastination should not be the answer. So, balancing your work between partners, if it is a group project, or between work days for yourself, can prove to be beneficial in the long run. There is the problem of group members not pulling their weight sometimes in school projects, and in that case, you just really have to hound them for it. Remind them constantly that this certain task needs to be done on schedule or the whole group will be suffering because that person did not pull their weight. And, if that does not work, well you will just have to snitch, as much as everyone hates to do that. Sometimes telling your professor can prove to help you and your other group members that are pulling their weight. Both group and individual school projects are based solely on how you manage your time. More time sometimes means you can put more effort and more effort most of the time means you get a better grade. And, who would not want a good grade?
