An Honorable Education by Peyton - August 2024 Scholarship Essay
Since my older sister got accepted into UF, exploring the campus with her during her time there has made me infatuated with the grounds and its educational facilities- especially their new honors village. A large focus of mine is to not only be accepted into UF as a student but be accepted as part of their honors program.
The UF honors program is catered to students who have a love for education and strive to go far. By being accepted into this program, I would be surrounded by those who share similar mindsets to mine, and I would have access to study rooms and honors classes that would contribute greatly to my academic future by supplying me with a wider selection of courses of higher rigor. This program also provides study-abroad opportunities, which has always been an aspiration of mine. I plan to pursue a career in forensics or forensic psychology, so being able to explore that field in dynamic environments while developing a more whole worldview would give me an advantage when I enter the workforce and allow me to help my community as best I can.
Not only do I strive to further my academic success by applying for the honors program, but I also aim to make my family proud. My father had always been an avid and endless supporter of my education, always encouraging me to go further and accomplish great things in school. With his recent passing, I aim now more than ever to further my education in any way that I can, and I know that the UF honors program is an excellent place to start, so that is where my next big educational goal stands.
