Entrepreneur Your Way Through Life by Peyton - February 2022 Scholarship Essay

The most successful people in the world are the ones that have taken control of their life and hold themselves to high standards. Many high school students hold themselves to high standards - getting good grades, turning in every assignment on time, doing extra credit, etc. However, entrepreneurs set detailed and intelligible goals. They act on their dreams and work to make them happen. Everyone has dreams but it seems like very few people will actually achieve their dream. Sometimes life gets in the way, but for the people around me, I find the biggest things holding them back are the motivation and knowledge behind making their dream a reality. Some of the biggest corporations were started in garages; not all success comes from a wealthy family or open doors. These doors will remain locked until commitment opens them.

Entrepreneurship is what guides innovation and builds society; it is the reason we live in the 21st century. Personally, I do not think an entrepreneur elective class would be the most fun or the most popular just because it is so serious. Everyone likes taking art classes because they do not take a lot of work, but being an entrepreneur does. It seems virtually impossible to friend and/or create a class that everyone will like, although, with even a couple full classes of Entrepuneral Basics, there will be more future leaders, developers, and innovators. I hope all of my classmates, friends, and family are successful and happy in their lives. The first step to achieving this is learning the basics on how to pursue ambitious goals, and how to make dreams a reality. Personally, I would take a class in entrepreneurship because I hope that in my future I will be proactive about how my life turns out. I aim to be a leader, an innovator, and I hope to take charge of my own destiny.

Entrepreneurs are the reason we live in a society that is curing cancer, exploring deep space, and investigating the bottom of the ocean. With a high school class dedicated to helping students achieve ambitious goals in the future, society will overcome obstacles we do not even know exist yet. Entrepuneral Basics should be a class all high schools offer to their students. It is a class that will help them be successful in their life, no matter what major, college, or other paths they take after they graduate.
