Academic Style by Paul - March 2014 Scholarship Essay
First of all I would like to introduce myself, my name is Paul Carrillo and I am a senior attending Metro Tech High School. The program that I am taking is Computer and Networking Technology. Ever since I entered middle school I had intentions of following a technological career that can lead up to my goals. Throughout my life I've had many achievements but from all the achievements I decide to speak closely upon one. One of the greatest achievements that I have accomplished was getting a grade point average of a 4.0 in middle school. I was thrilled to see my hard work truly pay off and make my family proud. Another achievement that I want to sneak in as well is getting second place in the entire eight grade art class from all the classes. I know that these achievements will help me become a great person with lots of knowledge.
Many people ask themselves, “Why don’t I ever get achievements”? Honestly getting achievements is not an easy thing because you have to push yourself forward to those goals you’re planning on achieving. I always reflect back on this 4.0 because thanks to this high academic achievement I was given to enroll directly in Metro Tech in advanced classes and have the opportunity to select the program I wanted to study for two years. My success in middle school is motivating me to strive for higher goals in my last year of high school year and my plans for college. This was one of the goals I had set myself forth in my first year of middle school because my brother was accepted at Metro Tech for having excellent academics and was placed in advanced classes. Therefore I wanted to be as great as him so I took my learning to a whole different level.
Throughout my life this achievement has made me a strong thinker and it has impacted the way I see things in life. Goals can be set but what truly counts is rock climbing up the mountain to place the flag of success. I want to thank all of my teachers and my beloved parents for supporting me in education and teaching me new tactics for achieving the goals that I've set out. This experience has impacted my education positively and I am pleased to say that education is by far the best gift any one can ever ask for.
