My Education by Patricia - December 2014 Scholarship Essay
Many people believe that if you don’t go to college you will spend the rest of your life flipping burgers at McDonald's. While I don't believe this to be true, I have come to believe that furthering education is important. Education teaches people and gives them new experiences.
From my own experiences with education, I have learned more than I ever could have otherwise. It's essentially made me who I am today. I relate to people on certain levels because of the things we both will understand. Being able to understand people is one of the informal lessons I got from school.
Not only has it made me more understanding of others, but it has made me more intelligent. That fact is important to me because one of the things I value about myself is my intelligence. Being able to understand people, situations, and schoolwork makes me a more intelligent person.
Intelligence is important, but most important is how I've developed. Because of school I have become a more down to earth person, it is because all I've learned.
Before learning more about others and others' situations, I could be very shallow about things. I'm very happy to say that I am a better person because of what I've learned.
Understanding, intelligence, and development are all important things that from my education make me who I am today. Learning more will always be important to me because of how much education can change someone.
